Intergenerational Work
Intergenerational Work
We develop and deliver programmes that bring elders together with children and young people — creating meaningful connections across generations. Elders share their wisdom, life experience, and cultural heritage, while young people bring energy, curiosity, and fresh perspectives. Both leave richer for the experience.
These programmes are proven to reduce isolation among older people, build empathy in younger generations, and strengthen the social fabric of our East London community.
- Structured intergenerational programmes with local schools and youth groups
- Storytelling, oral history, and skills-sharing sessions
- Joint cultural celebrations and community events
- Mentoring relationships between elders and young people
- Ongoing evaluation to measure impact on isolation and wellbeing
06
Working with Carers
Working with Carers
Unpaid carers — family members, friends, and neighbours who look after our elders — are the backbone of community care, and they often have needs of their own. We recognise this vital role and offer dedicated support to help carers maintain their own health, wellbeing, and quality of life.
Through Community Information Events, peer support groups, mentoring, focus groups, and workshops, we ensure carers are informed, connected, and never alone in their role.
- Community Information Events on rights, benefits, and local services
- Peer support groups where carers share experiences and advice
- One-to-one mentoring for new or overwhelmed carers
- Focus groups and workshops on carer health and resilience
- Respite through our day services, giving carers a break
